Soie Malaquais is the standout from Dries Van Noten's debut fragrance collection and the community favorite for good reason. Created by perfumer Marie Salamagne and inspired by the silk dresses at DVN's Paris boutique on Quai Malaquais, it opens with tart blackcurrant and bright bergamot before settling into a plush rose wrapped in a proprietary silk accord. The drydown is where it gets interesting: roasted chestnut and rich cacao create a gourmand warmth that's elegant and refined rather than overly sweet. Made with 88% naturally-derived ingredients, this is niche gourmand perfumery at its most sophisticated: silky, textured, and genuinely hard to stop smelling.
